  1. Mutant allele assays paired with a gene reference assay

* The EGFR_12376_mu assay does not have a corresponding wild type allele assay. Run EGFR_12376_mu with the EGFR_rf gene reference assay.

** The EGFR_ex19dels_mu assay detects 19 mutations 6210, 6218, 6220, 6223, 6225, 6254, 6255, 12367, 12369, 12370, 12382, 12383, 12384, 12387, 12419, 12422, 12678, 12728, 13551. Individual assays for each deletion mutation are also available. All EGFR exon 19 deletion assays can be run with either EGFR_rf gene reference assay or the EGFR_ex19dels_wt wild type allele assay.

There are 3 types of TaqMan® Mutation Detection Assays:

  • Mutant allele assay—detects specific or multiple mutant alleles. The assay name has the format: gene symbol_COSMIC ID_MU (e.g. KRAS_517_mu).
  • Wild type allele assay—detects a wild type allele. The assay name has the format: gene symbol_COSMIC ID_wt (e.g. KRAS_517_wt).
  • Gene reference assay—detects a mutation-free region of the gene within which the target mutations reside. The assay name has the format: gene symbol_rf (e.g. KRAS_rf).
