By analyzing public siRNA data and focusing on hyper-functional siRNAs, we identified a set of sequence features
as selection criteria to build an siRNA design algorithm using the machine learning framework,
support vector machines. Our new algorithm has been extensively validated experimentally for its ability to select
hyper-functional siRNAs that function effectively even at low concentrations.
